As the series opens, Boycie's longstanding admiration of the upper classes is brought to the fore when he decides he would quite like a portrait of himself to adorn the walls of The Grange. Bryan and Elgin commission an artist, but sadly, she is renowned for portraits of a different animal altogether…the cow. Not quite how Boycie sees himself! But that's the last of his worries when he hears that Marlene is planning a family trip to visit her mother and for once, Boycie and Tyler are united in their desperation.
Elsewhere, Elgin, Jed and Bryan enter a new reality show - Farm Idol - much to Boycie’s embarrassment and Boycie feels the stirrings of a family curse when he discovers that three lines of his male ancestory died at the same age he is now. Just how long has he got to live?
